Student Voice: How to get Involved
What is Student Voice?
Student Voice is a section of the Near North District School Board (NNDSB) website that gives space to the students in our board to share their thoughts, concerns and work. In the process of providing news and information about the board, we want to ensure students have a place to share what matters to them.
How to Submit to Student Voice
All NNDSB students are encouraged to submit work for inclusion on this page. The submission should be emailed to Student.Voice@nearnorthschools.ca. By submitting you acknowledge that your work will be published on the NNDSB website, and possibly on social media channels. Please include name, grade and school, and indicate if you would like only a first name used online.
Some schools already have a Student Voice rep who will be seeking submissions from their peers and/or covering events and submitting work.
The communications department is recruiting Student Voice reps; even if your school has one, we can certainly accommodate more than one representative. What do you have to do? The role entails encouraging contributions from your peers at school and sending submissions to us. The work can be writing, photos of art, links to videos, anything that is important. We feel that the voice of students needs to be amplified in board communication.
Student Voice reps are also encouraged to act as school "reporters" and send us coverage of events at your school, or in the community that are relevant to students.
Students wishing to be Student Voice reps need to submit a permission form and send it to student.voice@nearnorthschools.ca. If you have questions about the role, email for more information.
