Adult and Alternative Education

Adults 18+ are able to register through a number of pathways to participate in credits towards the OSSD. We offer the self-study program, cooperative education as well as re-engagement programs like the Personal Support Worker Program.

This adult program is open to individuals 19 years of age and older who need to upgrade their literacy and numeracy literacy. This is a support program, non-credit granting. Learners may purse secondary school credits, college programs, employment, or apprenticeships through our Continuing Ed Department. All services are free and city bus passes will be provided for qualified individuals. Monday to Friday |

mPLAR teacher establishes a list of eligible students throughout the region and meets with each student at their home school to establish a learning plan. mPLAR is in place to support students in their 18th year with a return to “on track” to graduation. Students participate in assessments to gain credits towards their OSSD. |

Referral Program for grade 10-12 students. Runs in 10-week quadmesters. Students are referred from home schools for a variety of reasons. Small setting, project-based learning. Program runs 8:50-2:50 daily, Monday to Friday, September to June. |

Adult program for students 18+, in long-term care. Students may graduate with their OSSD as well as their Provincially recognized PSW Certificate.
