The following report outlines the progress made toward achieving key priorities of the Near North District School Board in 2018-19. While work is underway to develop a new multi-year plan, this document will focus on priorities that align with the current plan and Board and Ministry goals. Contained herein is information on progress toward meeting the NNDSB Multi-Year Plan priorities of Excellence in Teaching and in the Learning Environment, Excellence in Creating a Culture of Caring and Excellence in Communication. It speaks to changes and continuation of efforts that will be made in 2019-20. Our goals in regard to literacy, numeracy, pathways, and wellbeing are featured.
Within this report, you will find specific data on graduation rates and EQAO literacy and numeracy results. It will concisely elucidate our efforts thus far, specialized intervention strategies and our plans to address gaps in literacy and numeracy progression kindergarten to graduation. We will highlight initiatives to nurture student pathways and to create a caring, inclusive and safe environment for all students. The collection and analysis of data is imperative to inform our progress and next steps. Another key focus is the importance of improvements in communication practice. This report provides a concise summary of the salient obligations we hold as educators of students in the Near North District School Board.
