The Ontario Curriculum: Health and Physical Education, Grades 1–8, 2019.
Promoting healthy development while enabling all students to reach their potential, is a priority of the Near North District School Board (NNDSB). A well-rounded educational experience, including the study of Health and Physical Education, prioritizes social-emotional learning, physical and mental health, and inclusion, together with academic success for all students. Consistent with the expectations outlined in Policy/Program Memorandum (PPM) 162, the NNDSB supports the parent(s)/guardian(s) role in their child(ren)’s learning, including the opportunity to request an exemption from participating in the Human Development and Sexual Health Expectations of The Ontario Curriculum: Health and Physical Education, Grades 1–8, 2019.
