Our IT Department is already working to ensure a smooth transition between buildings. This means that the network is ready to go and all necessary infrastructure is in place. Over the course of the moving weekend, laptop and tablet carts will be moved over, and our computer labs plugged in.
The final three weeks for Grades 9-12 in the new building will move forward as normal, consisting of exam review, practical exams and final exams.
There are a few circumstances that are alleviating the pressures of a full-scale move; newly purchased items are already installed at the new build which includes some new furniture and appliances, books and equipment only used certain times of year are already moved. Office storage items are being moved earlier in May, and seasonal items are also being moved ahead of time. The only items being moved during the transition time of June 5 will be last-minute items that the classrooms still require to finish the year.
Food services for PSHS students will continue in the same manner as this year with food offered to students three times per week in the cafeteria.

All students will be provided a map/floor plan for the new build which teachers will review with students to plan for the first day in the new building. On the first day, students will be welcomed into the building by all available staff and directed to their first period class. Their classroom teachers will be in the hallways outside their classroom doors to ensure students clearly see their classroom. Room numbers will be clearly visible outside each classroom, and designated staff will be circulating to help students navigate to their first period.

All safety procedures will be reviewed with staff and students, and a planned fire drill with advance notice will occur to give all staff and students a walk-through in June. The elementary and secondary schools are separated through clearly marked fire doors on the upper and the lower floors of the right-hand side of the building. There is a separate main entrance and main office for secondary, and a separate main entrance and main office for elementary.
