The board is in the process of purchasing DBL licenses for all Kindergarten students in the NNDSB. DBL allows students to engage in lessons that are adapted to their learning needs and allows teachers the opportunity to access real-time data and assign specific lessons to students, which will be particularly useful for the duration of home learning. 11:00 am | 3.3: Support for non-virtual learners
With an expansive geographic region and many rural communities, the NNDSB would like to offer some support for teachers designing lessons/learning activities through a non-virtual platform. This TEAMS discussion is focused around the development of learning activities that can be executed using ‘at-home’ experiences, utilizing familiar capture methods. Audience: K-12 |

This session will cover creating, using and joining groups in Edsby to support collaboration. We'll also dive into the gradebook and discuss ways that students can upload evidence of their learning through online submissions, the student portfolio and the evidence of learning system. Audience: K-12

4.1: Mathology Little Books and Mathology.ca for K-3
Mathology is a resource by Pearson that includes a series of “Math First” readers for K-3 students. Our board has purchased this for all kindergarten classes in the NNDSB and a pilot group of 5 schools for grades 1-3. With the current situation, Pearson has made the resources freely available to educators, including digital Mathology readers along with digital and home tasks. This session will familiarize K-3 educators with this resource and will allow for discussion on how to best leverage it for home learning. Audience: K-3 |
