Chippewa Secondary School

French Immersion

The French Immersion Program offers students a unique bilingual educational alternative. Students can continue their French Immersion studies in grades 7 and 8 and complete their secondary education in French, extending their use and knowledge of French as a second language.

The primary goal of the program is to provide students with a variety of options taught in French in order to maximize their French language use and improve their language skills. French Immersion Certificate students must complete 10 French Immersion courses, including all four French Language courses (FIF). Many of these courses also fulfill compulsory credit requirements for their OSSD.
