The Learning Connection

The Learning Connection ( full or part time, in- class environment, non-credit bearing, possibility of GED pathway)

This program works well with individuals who are 19 years of age and older and struggle with basic literacy and numeracy skills. Working with a teacher in a supportive classroom, a formal assessment will be completed to help determine the best pathway for the learner. The chosen pathway may be in one of the following areas:  Apprenticeship, Employment, Post-secondary and Living independence. Once the necessary skills in literacy and numeracy have improved the students will be referred to the ACE program at Canadore College to write the GED test. All services in this program are free and offered in English or French, bus passes may be available for those who may be in need, and there is continuous intake throughout the year.
