F.J. McElligott/ Mattawa District Public School
School Advisory Council
Who are we?
We are a group of individuals such as parents, caregivers, teachers, and community members. We get together approximately once a month to discuss what is happening within out schools and how we can support learning through different initiatives.
What do we do?
At our monthly meetings the principals from M.D.P.S and F.J.M deliver reports on school programming, staff, and events. We discuss how we can support the students of each school. We also organize fundraisers which support extra-curricular activities at both schools.
Advantages of joining the School Advisory Council:
-
Be the first to know what is going on within our schools and with your child’s education
-
Have a forum for your voice to be heard
-
Be able to support your child’s education and be involved at a deeper level
-
Meet the principals and staff and be able to communicate with them regularly
-
Be a part of something that is moving forward and making a difference in the lives of our children
New members are always welcome. We are open to suggestions and new ideas. Contact the principal for more information.
