About our Skills Catalyst Resource
This Skills Catalyst resource is intended to provide some context, guidance and training for individuals looking to expand their learning and participate in opportunities that help to tear down barriers to employment and participation in the thriving Northern community. Confidence and experience are the two most important aspects to learning, and our goal is to support individuals in acquiring both.
How this Resources is Organized
- Each tab in the binder corresponds to an identified skill set that is both ‘required’ by the labor market in our region as well as addressing a ‘gap’ in skills that individuals experience when preparing for hire.
- Within each tab is a page that outlines several opportunities within each skill to enhance experience and confidence.MANY of these opportunities presented are able to be completed completely online and independently. SOME of these opportunities are intended for in-classroom interaction.
- This resources is intended to be well-rounded and differentiated, because, the world is!
- This resource will be supported by many other experiences outside of this resource, including: field trips, guest speakers, hands-on experiential activities and of course, reflection.
