This is a very flexible program offered to adults and intermediate/secondary students. The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of each student whether at the beginning, intermediate or advanced level. Credit courses and TOEFL preparation may be offered if enrollment is sufficient.  The personal approach to education, combined with a balance between academics, social skills, Canadian culture and Canadian language development, will prepare the learner for future academic studies, employment and living in Canada.

 

For the first time, we are offerings ESL Night School courses that will offer students a credit towards their OSSD (Ontario Secondary School Diploma). In addition, summer school ESL credit courses will be offered starting in 2010.

 

Plans are also in place for September, 2010 to offer ESL secondary credit courses in the secondary day program for all North Bay intermediate and secondary school students who are interested.  

 

We would be happy to meet with any newcomers to North Bay to arrange a visit to our ESL classroom at Chippewa Secondary School, and to answer any questions about education opportunities in the Near North District School Board. 

 

New! We are pleased to announce the acquisition of a language lab with student laptop computers and specific software programs that are designed specifically for ESL learners at a variety of levels.
