Core French Facts
The fundamentals of French Learning.
The aim of the Core French program is to provide students with fundamental communication skills in French and an understanding of the nature of the language and its culture. Core French offers students the chance to develop a usable command of the French language that can be expanded through further study or through contact with French-speaking people. At the secondary level, students are required to take a minimum of one Core French credit.
Schools that Offer Core French
All Near North District School Board elementary and secondary schools (other than Alliance French Immersion Public School) offer Core French programs in the Primary, Junior, Intermediate and Senior divisions.
Core French Hours of Instruction
Students accumulate a minimum of 600 hours by Grade 8.
